Key Responsibilities
• Recommend and sell industrial water / wastewater treatment and filtration capital equipment systems
• Work within a cross-functional team of Sales, Engineering, Production, Project Management, Marketing, and Outside Representatives to achieve sales objectives, generate revenue and develop new product offerings
• Approx. 25% required travel – primarily within North America
• Visit customer facilities for site evaluations, meetings, equipment demonstrations, foster sales, and maintain prospective and existing business relationships
• Attend and participate in trade shows, corporate meetings, seminars, and industry-related presentations
• Report daily, in-person (when not traveling), to the Alar Mokena, IL office Mon thru Fri: 8am – 5pm
• Contact prospective buyers to evaluate needs and promote Alar’s capital equipment, products, and services
• Provide technical information or ideas with buyers in person, thru virtual meetings, by phone or email
• Review and design concept solutions based on buyer’s specifications with Alar project engineers / specialists
• Initiate quotes, follow up with prospective buyers, generate proposals, negotiate terms, and close contracts

Qualifications
• 3+ years as a Regional or Mid-Senior Level Sales Representative, with a stable work history, in the technical and/or capital equipment sales field – water or wastewater related experience preferred but not required
• Able to understand, read, write, and converse in English at an advanced level; as well as the ability to read, analyze and interpret industry related documents — primarily chemical formulas, mechanical specifications and environmental regulations relating to wastewater treatment projects
• Strong problem solving, decision making, customer relation, negotiation, interpersonal and organization skills
• Accomplished self-starter capable of working independently or within a cross-functional team environment
• Able to understand and apply basic mathematical concepts and formulas such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as common mechanical, logical, and chemical principles
• Essential computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, in addition to CRM software or sales and marketing application programs
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Physical Requirements: Talking, hearing, walking, sitting, hand / finger use, reaching, and standing.

We are looking for a well-rounded individual that is a quick learner that likes to fill their day with a variety of tasks. This is a full-time position.

Job Details – Skills/Responsibilities

• Electrical panel wiring and mounting of components
• Read electrical/technical drawings
• Experience in electrical panel wiring
• Must be able to run conduit and hook up electrical motors
• Point to point wiring of PLC’s
• Must pay attention to detail and be self-motivated
• Must have knowledge of a variety of hand/power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to complete mechanical assembly of components or products
• Inspect and test parts and products as necessary, during and after assembly, according to established guidelines and quality of standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to maintenance plans and established procedures
• Must work well with others and be a team player

Experience
• 1 – 2 years electrical/mechanical wiring and assembly preferred but will train.

Sales Support – Chemical Department

Alar Water Treatment is an established original equipment manufacturer of industrial and municipal wastewater filtration equipment, offering parts, chemical, and technical support to our customers. Alar’s office is in Mokena, IL, a southwest suburb of Chicago. The Sales Support position will work closely with the Chemical Sales Department. Your role will involve communication with our customers, vendors, warehouses, and freight companies to provide excellent customer service experience and support for our chemical customers. Help to establish growth of the Chemical Sales Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Communicate with customers by phone and email to answer questions, offer tracking information, estimate freight costs, provide general customer service, etc.
• Review and process chemical orders received via phone, email, or fax
• Coordinate with freight carriers, vendors, and warehouses to verify orders are received and shipped accurately in a timely manner
• Contact customers when they are approaching their anticipated order date
• Provide and follow up on price quotations prepared for current and prospective customers

Project Engineer

ALAR Water Treatment – Mokena, IL

Established in 1970, ALAR Water Treatment is an essential business that designs and builds water pollution control equipment for commercial production and manufacturing industries. ALAR continues to grow through its expanding worldwide distribution of chemical and mechanical industrial wastewater systems. We are a 2nd generation, family operated company, located in Mokena, IL; with in-house sales, engineering, production, chemical, parts and service departments.

This Project Engineering position’s main responsibility includes working directly with customers to provide the best solution to their wastewater filtration needs. This will involve using existing equipment and system modules, as well as development of new modules. Additional responsibilities are to aid in the design and development of new equipment and improvement to existing equipment. Projects will involve electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineering principles as well as industrial automation programming and equipment testing. Throughout this role you will build understanding of technical troubleshooting, equipment testing, technical writing, communication skills, and working within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to the engineering team
• Collaborate with sales and other engineers to envision and design systems for customers.
• Create cost estimates and assist in proposal development.
• Use 2D & 3D CAD software to create and update customer drawings and manufacturing drawings.
• Test systems to ensure proper function.
• Provide technical support to existing customers.
• Travel nationally to customer sites to train personnel on the operations and service of the systems.
• Provide over-the-telephone technical assistance to customers.
• Technical writing
• Help create and prove out engineering standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Entry to mid-level engineering experience.
• Ability to prioritize work load.
• Must be self-starter capable of working both independently, as well as part of the team.
• Must have solid analytical skills and be a good problem solver
• Able to read blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
• Able to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of mechanical system and their designs and uses.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% .
• 2-D and 3-D CAD experience, Auto-CAD and Creo are a Plus.
• Knowledge of PLC’s and/or industrial automation programming is a Plus.

• Keep up with general shop cleanliness and maintenance tasks
