We had a front-row seat to the future of engineering recently!

Thompson Engineering was proud to sponsor the 13th Annual Northern Gulf Coast Regional MATE ROV Competition at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. One of our team members had the privilege of serving as a guest judge, working alongside industry experts from Oceaneering to evaluate the incredible talent and innovation on display.

It was an inspiring weekend seeing these student teams in action as they competed for a spot at the World Competition in Canada this June. Congratulations to all the participants. The future of marine technology is in great hands!

A huge thank you to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab for hosting such a fantastic event.

We were proud to be the title sponsor for the inaugural Battle at the Fort Pickleball Tournament in Spanish Fort! This exciting event took place at the facility our team designed last year.

The tournament was a huge success, featuring a visit from the City of Spanish Fort's Mayor, and a goodwill performance from the Dogwood Trail Court. Most importantly, the tournament benefited American Cancer Society Shuck Cancer South Alabama and helped grant a "Magic Moment" for a local child living with TAR syndrome.

As National Work Zone Awareness Week comes to a close, we are observing a Moment of Silence to honor the memory of the roadway and public works crews who were lost in work zone incidents.

Honoring those who are no longer with us is a solemn reminder that safe actions save lives. By staying alert and avoiding distractions, we can protect the people behind the cones and ensure everyone makes it home to their families.

We were proud to support the 2026 American Society of Civil Engineers Gulf Coast Student Symposium co-hosted by The University of Alabama and UAB - The University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a sponsor and an employee-owned company, we value the opportunity to invest in the next generation of engineers and celebrate the leadership within our own team.

Several of our team members were on hand to volunteer and judge the various student competitions at the symposium. Miles Watkins, a Team Leader from our Pelham office, assisted with the Tug of War and networking events. Jamie Blanton, a Senior Engineer from our Chattanooga office, served as the head judge for the Construction Institute. Casey Brown, a Central Design Team Leader from our Birmingham office, acted as the head judge for the Timber Strong Design Build Contest.

It was a great weekend of competition and networking with prospective engineering students from across the Gulf Coast.

Our team was thrilled to participate in the ACS Chili Cook-off this year.

We joined as a sponsor to contribute to to the incredible work the American Cancer Society does for patients and their families in our region. The Mobile Chili Cook-off is always a wonderful opportunity for our employees in the area to come together and connect with their community to share some great chili for a great cause.
