When Minto Machine Shop was started in 1973, it would have been hard to imagine that the many changes that have occurred over the last 40 years. There have been many changes in the farming practices, manufacturing, technology and just about everything else. What started as a farm equipment repair business has evolved into a major manufacturer of potato equipment. Harriston equipment is used in eve
ry major potato producing area in the North America and many other places around the world. There is no way to thank all of the people who went out of their way to help us. Our customers, both farmers and dealers, have gone out of their way to help us design machines that will do that jobs their operations require. Many of them have stood by our side and stuck with us even when things weren't so rosy. We would not be here without them. We have the greatest customers in the world! There have been many other folks to thank for our success as well. Suppliers, bankers, investors, development people, city officials, neighbors and many others have been crucial to our continued growth and success. We have been fortunate to have a group of great employees. No business can be any better than the people that make things happen and we have been extremely lucky in that respect. Many of our folks have been here a long time. A number have moved on to other things, some have sadly passed on, some have retired and some are just tired. We believe that all of our people, both past and present, have always worked hard and tried their best to help Harriston succeed and to make Harriston a great place to work and do business with. A few organizational changes have taken place in our 40 year history. In 1997 Tom and Tony Osowski sold the business to an investment group out of Denver and Harriston Industries became a part of Terramarc until a group of local investors purchased Harriston Industries and Mayo Manufacturing from Terramarc in 2006. Under the capable leadership of Mike Delisle and Dexter Sitzer, the businesses continue to grow and prosper. We have found that the recipe for success has been the mixing and blending of many ingredients: capable people, quality products, innovation, teamwork and courage. Thanks to everyone who has made all of this possible.
