Architects and contractors ask us all the time how much an Eagle Z-Clip can hold. Here are the actual numbers from independent load testing. A single 1.5" Eagle Z-Clip averages 421 lbs of vertical load and 105 lbs of lateral load. A single 2" clip averages 478 lbs of vertical load. And a 48" rail opposite three 2" clips achieved an average of 703 lbs. In every test, the fastener or substrate failed before the clip did.
