Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Terminal 1 Operational Improvements Program has been named a 2025 Finance & Commerce Top Project! 🌟

This multi-year, multi-phase project transformed key areas across Terminal 1 from the ticketing hall and security checkpoints to baggage claim and curbside.

In collaboration with numerous project partners, Alliiance led planning and design of the project to create a smoother, more enjoyable journey for every passenger.

Congratulations to WSB, Three Rivers Park District, and the entire team for receiving a 2026 ASLA-MN Merit Award for the Mississippi Gateway Regional Park project!
The project creates a cohesive and sustainable experience across the 290-acre park. Alliiance is proud to have collaborated on this project designed to connect people with nature, recreation, and environmental learning along the Mississippi River.

Sunshine, sketching, and a little sightseeing! ☀️
Alliiance’s Amber Sausen and Urban Sketchers Twin Cities were back at Doors Open Minneapolis this year, hosting two morning sketch walks. Visiting the MacPhail Center for Music and Hennepin Arts Pantages Theatre, it was an energizing weekend sketching some of the city’s most amazing spaces.

The Alliiance team headed to Los Angeles for this year’s American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) National Conference where they connected with partners and colleagues, shared insights at our exhibit booth, and explored iconic architectural landmarks.

The Spokane International Airport Terminal Renovation and Expansion (TREX) Program is moving full steam ahead!

Ben Johnson and Joe Simma joined airport leadership and special guests for a sneak peek dinner in the soon-to-open concourse expansion, complete with a four-course “taste of the Inland Northwest” and fun photo booth.

Designed by Alliiance, the $145M Phase 1 includes a six-gate expansion. Three gates opened in 2024 and the remaining three are set to open this June. Up next is the Central Hall which will bring a consolidated security checkpoint, centralized baggage claim, and improved passenger flow to elevate the passenger experience.

The project is also pursuing LEED certification.

Once upon a time, at IIDA Northland’s annual Fusion & Fashion event, the Alliiance interiors team stepped into the world of Grimm’s Fairy Tales for a night of enchanting, out-of-this-world design. Congrats to all the teams who brought the fairy tales to life. This night was one to remember!

The Reif is the home for the arts community in northern Minnesota, deeply rooted in the people it serves and the front porch of the community.
As the center celebrates 10 years since the addition and renovation, Technical Director John Miller reflects on the behind-the-scenes journey that shaped its evolution.
Working alongside the Reif Center, Alliiance reimagined the facility to better support performance, learning, and gathering. The design addresses the needs of modern productions and audiences, enhances new arts programming, and improves the center's overall functionality and accessibility.

In progress: A welcoming and inspiring new heart on campus 📚

Alliiance, in partnership with Workshop Architects, Inc., is planning and designing a new campus center for the University of Minnesota Twin Cities St. Paul campus. The modern facility will combine the Magrath Library with the former student center to create a new and vibrant hub. Planning concepts driving the design include enhancing accessibility and the overall student experience, streamlining services to support the whole student, and providing a wide variety of study spaces that encourage connection and collaboration. The new facility will support the long-term transformation of the St. Paul campus.
