Last week, we joined Central Minnesota Housing Partnership, Project One Construction, and the Little Falls community in celebrating the grand opening of The Views on 7th. This new 45-unit affordable housing community is designed for families and households of varying incomes. It features spacious one- to four-bedroom apartments, modern amenities, a community room, outdoor gathering spaces, a playground, and a dog park. Thoughtfully designed to feel welcoming and connected to the neighborhood, The Views on 7th is a vibrant and welcoming place for families to call home.

Designed by Blumentals/Architecture, Max’s Social House honors the building’s historic character while bringing new energy to downtown Hudson. The exterior renovation preserves the original limestone masonry, while introducing a refreshed palette of warm neutrals, dark accents, updated lighting, and new signage.

Inside, the renovation focused on creating a more open, connected experience. New structural openings were carefully cut through the building’s 24" thick stone walls, allowing the bar and restaurant spaces to flow seamlessly together. The design draws guests toward a new stage positioned in front of the large street facing windows, creating a focal point for live entertainment. Rich wood finishes, warm lighting, custom arched millwork, and carefully selected furnishings complete the interior, balancing historic character with an elevated hospitality experience inspired by both Midwest tradition and Southern charm.

The result is a timeless gathering place where great food, live music, and community come together in a space that celebrates Hudson’s history while embracing its future.

We would like to thank everyone who was able to join us for our 50th Anniversary celebration yesterday, as well as those who were unable to attend but have contributed to our success over the years. Reaching this milestone would not have been possible without the support, dedication, and friendship of so many people along the way.
It was wonderful to reconnect with former employees, clients, consultants, and friends of the firm. We truly enjoyed spending time together, sharing memories, and celebrating the relationships that have helped shape our company over the past 50 years.

Blumentals has been a valued member of CMHP’s development team for more than 25 years, partnering with us on affordable housing developments that have helped create, preserve, and improve quality housing opportunities for individuals and families across Central Minnesota. Their expertise, dedication, and collaborative approach have played an important role in the success of numerous projects and the communities they serve.

Specialty Surgery Center for Women, a division of Minnesota Women’s Care, located in Maplewood, celebrated its grand opening last week. Blumentals/Architecture is proud to announce the completion of this state-of-the-art surgery center for women. We designed the 3,000-square-foot facility to maximize space efficiently, enhancing patient care, workflow, and overall comfort, despite its compact size.

The surgery center aims to create a harmonious environment that blends timeless charm with a modern aesthetic. It features clean lines and vibrant energy, utilizing a palette of natural hues complemented by vibrant teal accents. This design transforms the space into a bright and inviting haven that prioritizes comfort, luxury, and healing for all patients.

Reflecting on my journey over the years, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to those who have helped me along the way.

- My wife, Julie, for supporting me in pursuing my dreams, even when it hasn’t always been easy.
- My NDSU classmates and colleagues for helping me land this job and collaborating with us whenever we needed assistance.
- Janis and Su Blumentals, the original owners of the firm, for hiring me and for having the confidence to pass on the firm to me upon their retirement.

Blumentals/Architecture was instrumental in integrating the design of an event center into the historical J.I. Case Building owned and redeveloped by Sherman Associates, Inc. This historic building is now a diverse and multi-faceted redevelopment that embraces its historicity while leaning on some modern touches!

We're thrilled to share that our J.I. Case Building and Our Lady of Peace Hospice renovations have been honored as top projects of 2023 by Finance & Commerce! These awards recognize excellence in various areas such as degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors and management, and sustainability efforts.

The J.I. Case Building, located in the Downtown East neighborhood of Minneapolis, underwent a historic renovation, transforming the existing 3-story brick building to accommodate future restaurant spaces, new office space, and a rooftop deck.

The Our Lady of Peace Hospice Addition and Renovation was a multi-phase project. It involved the construction of additional patient suites, an entrance canopy, a lounge, and a renovated lobby, to foster a more welcoming atmosphere for guests and patients.
