The story of Advanced Machine & Tool Co., Inc. Frank Simms, a former machinist in the U.S.

began in 1980 in a borrowed room in the back of a gas station in Essex Center, Vermont. Navy, started out initially repairing boat propellers, due to the need for such a service in the area. One year later with three employees on the payroll, the company bought property in the neighboring city of Essex Junction, where they worked out of an over sized two bay garage and a separate building housing

the propeller repair shop. In 1990, they were on the move again to their current state-of-the-art 12,000 square-foot facility for machining and manufacturing located in Milton, Vermont. From its early start with just one automated machine and the owner returning to school to learn Computer Aided Design (CAD), Advanced Machine & Tool Co., Inc. has grown in careful strides, maintaining constant quality each step of the way. Today, the company employs a high-caliber team of more than 15 individuals from the military, aerospace and high-tech sectors; boasts five axis CNC machining centers; and proudly incorporates the ‘5S’ system in all aspects of its manufacturing. In a continuing effort to improve customer satisfaction and quality, the company is now AS9100D / ISO 9001:2015 Certified.
