You may or may not know, but today is NATIONAL INVENTORS' DAY. Inventors' Day recognizes the contributions of inventors, and one invention that has had a significant impact on the world (and our company 😉) is the invention of the LASER. In 1960, American physicist Theodore Maiman invented the first working laser. Pictured is Dr. Maiman with the first laser prototype. The laser has come a long way in the past 60+ years, but Dr. Maiman is undoubtedly an inventor to celebrate!

SOMABLACK, a polyester-based material, has become a frequent request by customers. This material both shades light and reduces reflection while also having excellent dimensional stability. It has many properties needed in multiple industries and it cuts extremely well producing a clean straight edge on our laser systems, which are YAG UV technology.
