Foundations 101: Which Foundation Fits Your Lot?

Before choosing a floor plan, it’s important to look at what’s underneath your home. Your lot’s slope, grade, and site conditions can play a big role in determining which foundation makes the most sense.

🔹 Slab — A simple, lower-cost option for level lots. However, it provides limited access to plumbing and mechanical systems beneath the home and is not available for our modular home builds.

🔹 Crawlspace — A great option for relatively level lots, providing accessible space beneath your home for utilities and maintenance. On lots with significant slope, a basement is often the better choice.

🔹 Basement — The most versatile option for varying grades and terrain. A basement allows your home to be built on a flat lot, a hillside, or somewhere in between while adding valuable space and future flexibility.
