How GETT was started:
Jerry Edwards, our founder, started his business after 15 years as a Tool & Die Maker. He started out in a two-car garage until he relocated to our present shop in 1980. Since then he has expanded three times to accommodate the needs of business from all around the country. GETT Industries started as a small business, but continues to expand to meet all of our customers needs
, small and large. GETT Industries is named after Jerry and his two sons, (G)erald (E)dwards, (T)om and (T)im and was started merely by chance. In high school Jerry built street rods, a hobby that consumed him. He eventually built a garage and shared it with a friend, who used to store machine tools with Jerry using them to work on cars. At the time, Jerry was a Tool Makers apprentice for a local tool shop. When the friend decided to sell the machine tools, Jerry bought them starting a machine shop in his garage in the evenings after work. Within a few years, he was doing so much business on the side, that he made a decision to quit his job and go into business full-time. That choice was followed by some tough years, as the tiny four-man shop struggled with problems and often spending more money on machines to do the work than the jobs were worth. Despite the hardship and a bad economy, GETT fought on by diversification and taking on experimental work and small production runs which has allowed GETT to expand several times over the years. The biggest advantage in dealing with GETT Industries is our employees. We have highly-skilled employees with a wide array of backgrounds and experiences that combine to bring quality expertise for your toughest, most demanding project. is a machine shop that has made shafts and various race car parts for Evernham Racing to large machinery parts for companies such as John Deere and Caterpillar.
