February is National American Heart Health Month.

In our industry, we talk a lot about performance, pressure, and endurance but none of it matters without the health of the people behind the work.

Long hours. Demanding schedules. Tough environments.
Your heart carries you through it all.

This month is a reminder to slow down when you can, check in with your health, schedule that appointment you’ve been putting off, and take care of the one engine that keeps everything running.

At Texas EPCM, safety isn’t just a jobsite priority it’s personal.

Take care of your heart. Your family, your team, and your future depend on it.

Leadership Spotlight: Matthew D. Elrod
Operations Manager | Texas EPCM, LLC

At Texas EPCM, operations excellence isn’t just a goal it’s a discipline. And at the center of that discipline is Matthew D. Elrod.

With nearly three decades of hands on experience in fabrication, gas plant construction, refinery expansions, and midstream infrastructure, Matthew brings a rare blend of technical depth and operational leadership to every project.

Born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, Matthew began his career in 1995 as a welder’s helper at High Country Fabrication. From there, he steadily expanded his expertise transitioning into welding and cutting automation, plant design using AutoCAD, and large scale fabrication management.

Throughout his career, he has:
- Designed and supported gas plant and refinery expansions
- Fabricated and packaged compressor units, line heaters, and combustors
- Helped implement Sarbanes Oxley compliance processes
- Built and led manufacturing divisions in the Permian Basin
- Automated welding operations and expanded production capabilities with advanced equipment including CNC plasma tables, SAW machines, and automated nozzle welders

In 2019, Matthew began working for EPCM companies to support operators seeking well designed, economically viable facilities that meet both federal and local regulations. His expertise spans ASME Sections IX, VIII Div. I, B31.3, B31.8, and API 1104 — disciplines critical to oil and gas infrastructure integrity.

What truly sets Matthew apart is his leadership philosophy. He prioritizes:
- Risk assessment and accident prevention
- Incident management and first aid preparedness
- Behavior-based safety observation
- Continuous improvement through training and operational analysis

Under his operational leadership, Texas EPCM delivers facilities built with precision, safety, and long term performance in mind.

When certainty matters most, Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) delivers.
We provide a firm price, defined schedule, and take on the ex*****on risk giving operators a single point of responsibility and predictable outcomes.

With CMAR, we own the risk, not the client, so operators can focus on performance, not project uncertainty.

Cost Plus delivery is built on transparency and flexibility.
We work as an extension of the owner’s team, providing full visibility into engineering, procurement, and construction costs so every dollar is accounted for and every decision is informed.

Ideal for fast track projects and evolving scopes, this approach allows operators to adapt in real time while maintaining strong cost control and alignment across all parties.

Working in below freezing temperature safety tips
When working in below freezing temperatures, it is crucial to take precautions to prevent cold-related injuries and illnesses.

Here are some safety tips to follow:
• Wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing to provide insulation and prevent heat loss.
• Cover all exposed skin, especially the nose, ears, fingers, and toes, to protect against frostbite.
• Wear insulated waterproof gloves and boots to protect extremities from cold and wet conditions.
• Limit outdoor exposure time to 20-30 minutes in extreme cold and come indoors immediately if you feel numbness or tingling.
• Stay dry and avoid touching cold metal surfaces with bare skin to prevent heat loss.
• Monitor your physical condition and that of your coworkers, and seek medical attention if you or your coworkers experience symptoms of cold stress or hypothermia.

By following these safety tips, you can help ensure a safer working environment and prevent serious cold-related injuries.
