I got a new vice for the mill. It needed some cleanup, deburring and upgraded a bit to make it usable to the way I want. Now I can open or close the vice with my fingers only. A huge difference from when it was new.

At work we have a lot of plastic conveyor belts moving around to move health and nutrition products products back and forth. About once a month we have to remove the belts for cleaning and then reinstall them. To remove them the belts we have to turn the belt on its side, try to hold it steady and knock out the link pin. We have to do the same thing to put the belts back together. Yesterday I was watching the guys struggling with these belts and I had an idea. I went to the shop, grabbed a chunk of aluminum and machined out a fixture to hold the belt flat in place. It made removing and reinstalling the link pins 300x easier. The guys loved it! 🙂
