This month, Ryan Sievers, James Biggers, and Maggie Foster from our Nashville Office kicked off bridge inspections in McNairy County, Tennessee. These inspections are being performed as a subconsultant to Volkert, Inc. under the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) On-Call Repair Contract.

The project marked Maggie's first bridge inspection as a Fickett Intern. High heat and humidity made for an unforgettable introduction to fieldwork, but she was up for the challenge!

The Fickett team is proud to support Volkert and TDOT, and we look forward to continuing inspections throughout July and August!

Earlier this month, Traa Haase, PE, CWI; Kirsten Parent, PE; Jacqueline Brady; and Austin TenHaken traveled to the Bozeman, MT area to perform NSTM Inspections for the Montana Department of Transportation. Throwback to 2024: Fickett’s PNW Team inspected the historic Dungeness River Truss Bridge in Sequim, WA. They used rope access, lifts, and ladders to get within arm's length of all structural elements.

One of only two remaining timber Howe Truss Bridges in the state, this railroad bridge was originally constructed circa 1915 by the Seattle, Port Angeles, and Western Railway. It was acquired and used by various rail entities through circa 1984. Today, it is owned and maintained by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and serves as an integral part of the community and the Olympic Discovery Trail System, serving as a central gathering point for the community, welcoming walkers, runners, and cyclists, and hosting various local events!

We're thrilled to welcome Fickett’s Summer 2026 Engineering Interns: Maggie Foster and Sam Walsh!

Maggie joins our Nashville Office from of Tennessee, Knoxville. Sam studies at UW–Milwaukee and will spend the summer with our Madison Team. Both are pursuing their Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering.

After completing initial training, they're heading into the field to learn from our inspection team and gain hands-on experience!
