🧵 New series: The History of LTP — Part 1

Lab Test Products was formed in New Jersey in 2008. But the story starts decades earlier, in Brooklyn.

LTP grew out of Excelsior Belting Equipment Co., a company serving the dry cleaning and garment pressing trade since at least 1936. When Excelsior's Brooklyn chapter came to a close, Lou De Robertis and Peter Parisi carried the product knowledge, customer relationships, and manufacturing expertise forward into a new company in Middlesex, NJ — and even kept the name from Excelsior's existing Lab Test product line.

The location changed. The standards didn't.
