As a company, we are extremely proud of the many U.S. Military Veterans that have worked at J.R. Hoe over its 116 year history.

Former company President [1989-2005] Harry M. Hoe was a WWII Veteran.

Mr. Hoe landed under fire on Utah Beach in Normandy, France on D-Day in 1944. He was assigned to the role of Forward Observer in the 42nd Field Artillery Battalion of the 4th Infantry Division, led by General George Patton. As the Allied Forces fought their way through France to Germany, Mr. Hoe was awarded the Bronze Star in July and the Silver Star in November of that year. In Luxembourg during the Battle of the Bulge in December, Mr. Hoe was awarded his 2nd Bronze Star for his heroism under fire. He was furloughed to return home to the US and was back home in Middlesboro, Ky. when WWII ended on May 8, 1945, two weeks shy of his 20th birthday.

An exciting kickoff tonight for our hometown of Middlesboro, KY! We’re proud to have played a small part in bringing the 2025 Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series to life by providing new custom-fabricated railings and a sound engineer platform built to support every beat. Kudos to our excellent fabrication crew for getting the job done!
