Is it time for the switch? The one major question lingering for us Foodservice Content Creators.

We fought for years to get our own Foodservice Category. I believe it is time for the industry to make that big leap forward. On the few responses we have gotten back from well known FCSI designers, the move is happening.

So on that note, FES would like to welcome Champion Industries and IMC/Teddy to be our first manufacturers to the realm of the Foodservice Category in Revit 2023.

All FCSI Revit Guidelines will remain intact.

Who needs Revit?

A common question, with a rather simple answer. If it takes up Space in a design, you need a Revit model, it does not matter if you have utilities or not.

In todays world where every square inch matters, quality Revit Families make a difference.

Designers and Dealers are using Revit for many functions from just showing a 3D view, full on BIM collaborations, to a beautiful Render and Walk-thru scenario. So it really does not matter if you are a spec'd or VE manufacturer, providing quality Revit Families can provide a great boost in visibility.

A Revit Family is more than a pretty 3D graphic and parameters, then calling it a great model. There is more details to consider when developing quality Revit Families. These details provide the necessary tools for the designer with ease of usability within the Project environment.

The ROI on a quality Revit Library is priceless.

As we start to wrap up 2024, I would like to give a huge Thank You to all of our clients, which are a wide range of Manufacturers, Dealers and Rep firms.

We had a great year of Revit Content Creation and Training, while adding another Revit seat for more content creation.

Keep an eye out at NAFEM for our table top signs.

With not far away, this is a great time to take inventory of IF you have Revit and what shape that Revit model is in.

Does it conform to FCSI Revit Standards?
Does it function well for overall industry in a project?
Is it Render ready?
Does it conform to basic Autodesk Modeling Practices?
How old is the family?

If you are unsure, we would be glad to help with a full review (pdf format or live via Zoom). Files that are older than 5 years are worth looking into, due to standards changes, rendering capabilities and possible time saving techniques that were not available in older versions.

Revit Content Creation is not only developing a pretty 3D model with Utility Information. 99% of "HOW" you model the Revit Family, matters in a "how" it works in a Revit Project.

Sucks we are missing SNA , with many great friends and clients already there, I am sure they will be will happy to answer any Revit questions for you.

With the enormous success at NAFEM, FES could not make the trip to the great city of Chicago. We hope everyone is having a great time at the NRA Show and being safe.

A little something to think about is that your Revit content is not forever. Approximately every 5 years, you should review your Revit Content. Due to new techniques, manufacturer equipment updates, standards and the way designers are using said equipment.

With VR and AR becoming a norm, Revit models should be looked at to keep up with this demand.

When you are faced with challenges, you do not just rise or fall, but you learn. Learning from failure can be more valuable than having constant success.

This year started out normal enough. At the start of the 2nd Quarter Truman Donoho went into semi-retirement and handed FES over to me. So a new chapter of my life started as Owner of FES. As most new entrepreneurs know, this is exciting and nerve racking at the same time.

Low and behold this was just the beginning and it has been an exciting ride since. A huge shout out to existing and new clients that have come on board. We hold everyone as friends first and clients second. You will not get any better service. Quality over Quantity.

This is the biggest reasons we produce one of the best products to the Foodservice Industry. I would not want to give a friend something half done. The details matter and not just the graphics.
