Over fifty years of history and evolving culture have shaped Bliss & Nyitray into the reputable, quality-driven and client-focused firm that exists today. Developing our engineers means getting them off their screens and into the field. For a couple weeks in a row, BNI’s engineers spent a morning at Structural Prestressed Industries, Inc. (SPI) in Medley, touring their prestressed concrete facility, from strand stressing through storage and transport.

Big thanks to the SPI team for showing BNI’s engineers the best way to design using precast joists and soffit beams!

Gallery at Rome Yards is rising in Tampa. This residential tower with a precast garage is taking shape with post-tensioned slabs, concrete columns, and concrete shear cores while balancing efficiency with architectural intent. The L-shaped form required careful coordination of pour strip sequencing with PT stressing and reshores to support constructability and schedule. Eccentric foundations and accelerated garage er****on demanded precise detailing and close collaboration to maintain alignment and load transfer. BNI was thrilled to be at the 2026 Miami Lexus Corporate Run!🏃‍♂️💨 We took on the race together with great energy and lots of team spirit. Of course, the celebration didn’t stop at the finish line! Our team tent was the perfect spot to connect and enjoy some well-earned food together. It was an amazing atmosphere, and an even better team. Already looking forward to next year!👟

As the NFL Draft takes place in Acrisure Stadium , we look back 28 years to when Bliss & Nyitray, Inc. started design of the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The design of this 7th NFL Stadium that BNI designed under Populous, formerly known as HOK SVE, reflects the three rivers, the heritage of Pittsburgh, and naturally an emphasis on exposed structural steel.

The same way the Rooney family has been a model of integrity, leadership and unwavering loyalty in building the Steelers team is the same way they have approached design of the stadium, from original design through the present, with BNI and the design team every step of the way.

Most people who use the buildings that we design don’t know the name Bliss & Nyitray, Inc. but they feel the experience envisioned by the owner and architect, quietly supported by the structural engineer.

This letter that Dolphins owner Joe Robbie sent to John Nyitray nearly 40 years ago was such a special acknowledgement of BNI’s key role in design of the home of the Miami Dolphins.

Today, BNI had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Shahid Islam and Maxime Monestime from DYWIDAG for an in-depth technical presentation on high-strength Threadbar reinforcement and bonded post-tensioning systems. The session covered DYWIDAG's full range of Threadbar products and demonstrated how these threaded systems can dramatically reduce rebar congestion, and simplify mechanical coupling in heavily reinforced elements like drilled shafts, columns, and shear walls. Notable projects were showcased with successful implementation of these systems. The presentation also explored DYWIDAG's mono-strand and multi-strand bonded post-tensioning systems, with different anchorage configurations, and corrosion protection considerations. We're grateful to the DYWIDAG team for sharing their expertise and look forward to continuing to leverage these advanced systems on our projects.

It was a great day at the 2026 West Palm Beach Lexus Corporate Run.🏃‍♂️💨 BNI showed up strong, hit the course, and took home a t-shirt contest award for our “We Run More Analysis Than Miles” theme!🏆 From the starting line to the finish (and to Paul's surprise post-run 40th BNI anniversary cake), it was all about community. BNI's West Palm Beach crew made the most of their Spring Picnic!🌴☀️ From pies and giant Jenga to soccer games that nearly ended in the river, it was a day full of laughs. The kids stole the show, turning Jenga blocks into epic King Kong vs. Transformers battles. Grateful for moments like these that bring our team and families together.
