In recent weeks, Houston experienced deadly historic flooding (the worst in 100 years) that has claimed lives and caused an approximate $5 billion in damage. Our Sealy, Texas dome was put to the test and we’re proud to report that our pre-emptive early engineering efforts continue to produce the desired results, primarily keeping our clients’ assets and our regional operating office secure. When ABC Domes worked on developing civil plans, we engineered and built to the 500 year flood plan, paying particular attention to our own extreme storm drainage and retention pond capacity plan.

The NSSA (National Storm Shelter Association), of which ABC Domes is a Producer Member, has established the NSSA Education and Outreach Foundation. The sole mission of the Foundation is to inform the public about storm shelters and their reliability. The ABC Domes team has completed this 39' high, 138' in diameter Severe Accident Management FLEX equipment storage dome for Southern Company.

A concrete dome wide enough to cover half a football field was recently built to shield a backup supply of power equipment in the event of a nuclear meltdown or other emergency at Plant Vogtle near Waynesboro, Ga.

The Webb City, Missouri High School dome gymnasium/safe room held the first generation of Cardinal graduates in this great new facility.
