Paragon Kilns

Paragon Kilns Beyond kilns! World-class trusted partner of heating solutions for hobbyists, pros and industry. They started out of a garage and built Paragon by word of mouth.

Paragon was founded as a family business in 1948 by Frances Darby and her husband, J.J. In 1982 John R. Hohenshelt bought the assets of the company from Frances Darby and formed a new organization under the Paragon name. Today, Paragon Industries, L.P. is the leading manufacturer of electric kilns for ceramics, glass, porcelain, pottery, heat treating and metal art clay. Paragon kilns are proudly

made in America by master kiln builders. Many of them have been with us for over 20 years. The 52,000-square-foot factory and the 20,000-square-foot secondary building are a block south of Highway 80 at the Town East Blvd. exit. Here you will find over 70 full time employees, including two engineers and five customer service representatives. We pride ourselves on the friendliness that is the hallmark of Mesquite, Texas. A firing cycle is more than just “heating up a kiln.” 🔥

Every stage matters:
• Ramp rates
• Temperature holds
• Controlled cooling
• Annealing schedules

Small changes in programming can completely affect the final result.

That’s why the Sentinel SmartTouch controller is designed to give artists precise, reliable control throughout the entire firing process.
