🏡 A New Chapter for 120 E. Wexford
For those who have been following along with Homegrown Investments, you know that the future of 120 E. Wexford has been something I've been thinking about very seriously.
The original building—the Butcher Block—is unfortunately not something I'm going to try to save. As difficult as that decision was, I've started looking at what the next chapter for this property could look like.
And I'm excited about what I'm seeing.
I'm currently exploring the possibility of creating a small, thoughtfully designed mixed-use development that would bring new housing and potentially a small commercial space to downtown Buckley.
My vision is not to put up something that feels out of place. I want to take inspiration from Buckley's history and the character of the original building while creating something functional, attractive, and useful for our community today.
I'm fortunate to have the support and guidance of a real estate professional, development resources, and several potential investors who see the potential in this property and are interested in helping bring the right project together.
I'm also beginning to explore state housing resources and funding opportunities, including MSHDA programs that may help make attainable housing development possible.
There is still a LOT to figure out—zoning, setbacks, design, financing, and what is actually feasible on this particular piece of property. Nothing is set in stone yet.
But the conversations have started. ❤️
What began as an old building that had reached the end of its life may have the opportunity to become something completely different and hopefully something that adds value to downtown Buckley for years to come.
This is Homegrown Investments.
We're just getting started. 🌱
