Below is the job description and responsibilities:
The CNC Lathe and Swiss Setup/Programmer will be responsible for setting up and running 2-3 Hanwha Swiss type lathes and or a traditional Miyano fixed head lathes for production runs. 4-5 setups per week average. In addition, this position may also be responsible for programming new parts and jobs that come through the swiss department.

Proficient in CATIA, CAD, SolidWorks, and other design software
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machining techniques
- Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges
- Familiarity with lathe operations and tooling setups
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Minimum 3-5 years setting up CNC Swiss machines or lathes. Basic knowledge in program editing and tool selection. Knowledge writing new programs in MasterCam will be a plus but not a necessity for consideration.

The big reveal is here! Took delivery of our Citizen-Miyano BNE-51MYY this morning! Twin spindles & twin turrets with full y-axis capability. One and done is this machine's specialty and we cannot wait to get it up and running. Thanks to Daniel "D.J." Uribe and the team at Zeman Technologies for helping get this beast in here.

Our first Miyano multi-axis lathe is finally here. Opening up new capabilities for moving more parts from multiple operations to one operation in the Miyano! Cannot wait to start making chips!

Today is the day our new machine is arriving. What do you think it is?

After making some much needed capital investments in building and grounds improvements in Q1 and Q2, we are finally taking delivery of our first new machine this week! Any guesses on what machine will be hitting the floor and filling this open spot tomorrow!?

We purchased this Nexturn 12mm Swiss Lathe specifically to run the same part 24/7/365 for the next 5 years. 100% dedication to 1 part is not at all common in our job shop but we landed the work and needed to find the right niche machine to produce it. Excited to get this up and running next week as our customer ramps up production as well!

Our first big purchase of 2024 has arrived to our facility this week! More work to be done but we are very excited to get these two brand new HAAS ST-20Y Lathes up and running, and running all night long!

The goal with these machines, matched with FMB bar loaders, is to run medium to low production runs on very simple parts. Parts that are done in 2-3 operations now we will run Lights Out for 1-4 days and then change to the next part. The sub-spindle option added to them means we will run all parts complete and burr free. The ease of setup and changeover drew us to the HAAS, and their unbeatable financing options sealed the deal.

We are excited to announce that we are moving out some of our old machines, and bringing in some new one! This open space in our shop has been created for the two new machines we plan to move here.

Two FMB Barloaders arrived at Mantel Machine Products from Edge Technologies today! A few more weeks before we hook them up to our new machines!

Today we started the process of replacing the furnaces that have been in use since 1979. We invested in slightly higher BTU, high efficiency Modine's to cut down on utility usage. We are also able to cut down on total furnaces needed in the facility.

Over the last 3 years we have put a heavy emphasis not only investing in machinery but investing in building improvements. We are committed to creating a work environment that our employees enjoy coming in to. There are still a lot of things to be done that haven't changed since 1979, but these are fun projects!

We are to deliver quality goods that function the way the customer requires them to, every time.

Thanks to Vargus for the custom "threading" inserts used for this unique profile on the outside of these parts we finished up today.

Our customer threads extension springs onto these lugs for assemblies in the loading dock industry. In the past, these parts were cast in a foreign land called CH-INA. Customer had issues with heavy slop between the stud and the spring. Our parts thread on tightly and are hard to back-off once assembled. Quality over cheap wins this battle, MADE IN AMERICA!

Fun Swiss Setup Friday!

This is one of a couple parts that we run with a left handed thread on one end and a slot across the opposite end. To avoid picking off on the soft brass threads, and being able to machine the slot on the main, we do the threading on the sub-side with a Fette head. Most fun part is using the main tool gang to reset the Fette head in-between parts with a chain and extension spring.

Once setup, this part runs for 24 hours without any problems. The Fette head is a great way to create the thread with no need for adjustments!
