🚨 Service Update for Hosted Phone Customers 🚨

The fiber cut on the bridge in Little Rock has been repaired, but the signal quality is not yet strong enough for data to pass through. The providers are still working to fully restore service.

πŸ”§ What We’ve Done in the Meantime:
Early this morning, I went to Little Rock and have been working to get connected directly into the colocation facility’s network to use a third providers fiber. Working with their provider, we were able to route our phone system IPs over that fiber to get the phone system back online.

We’ll continue to post updates here as the providers complete their work. Thank you for your patience as we push through this issue.

🚨 Service Update for Hosted Phone Customers 🚨

This morning, two conduits containing the fiber lines of both providers, the primary and the backup, across the bridge in Little Rock, were cut, taking down all connectivity to the colocation facility where our phone system is hosted.

πŸ”§ Current Status:
Repairs are in progress, and the providers have given an estimated time of restoration at 12:30PM.

πŸ“± Temporary Solution:
If you need your business calls forwarded to mobile phones during this time, please let us know by a ticket @ [email protected] or text 479-234-2776 β€” we can get that set up for you.

We appreciate your patience as the providers work quickly to restore service. We’ll post updates here as soon as we have more information.

UPDATE:
We now have the portable generator running and intruder internet is restored.

Important Update: Internet Outage at Our New Core Tower Site
We're currently experiencing an internet outage for some of our customers. This is due to a utility power loss for all of Mena that impacts our new core tower location.

We understand how frustrating outages can be, and we want to provide you with an update on our generator situation. While we ordered the natural gas for our backup generator in October, and the line has been successfully run to the site this week, we're still awaiting the meter installation.

The good news is that we're actively working to get our generator reinstalled at the new site and fully operational next week. Once it's up and running, it will significantly reduce the likelihood of these types of power-related outages.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We're committed to providing you with reliable internet service!

We apologize for the outage. The storm last night caused some direct lightning damage to three tower sites. Some equipment has been damaged and being replaced. We are working as quickly as possible to restore your service if you are one of the ones impacted.

Update:
There was more to replace than anticipated, but our V2 tower is back to operational and service is restored to all customers serviced by that. Thanks for being the most patient and wonderful customers. We are still working on all our upgrades and redundancy to improve stability and performance.

Dear Valued Velocity Broadband Customers,
This message is to inform you about a brief service interruption experienced by some customers earlier today, Monday, April 28th, 2025, and to provide context regarding a significant network enhancement.

Velocity Broadband is investing in our core infrastructure to improve service capacity and reliability. Today, we activated a new primary fiber optic circuit provided by AT&T, establishing a new core location for our network towers.

During the final stages of activation, a necessary technical step involving IP address migration was performed earlier than planned due to a miscommunication. Because this occurred before our scheduled maintenance window tonight, the automatic failover system to our redundant Vyve fiber connection was not yet configured for the new circuit, leading to a temporary loss of connectivity for some users.

Our engineers worked quickly to complete the necessary configurations. We confirm that the issue is now resolved. Both our new primary AT&T fiber and our secondary Vyve fiber connections are online and operating correctly, with seamless failover capabilities fully implemented between them.

This upgrade significantly enhances the backbone of our network, providing increased resilience. We deeply regret the disruption caused by the premature cutover and apologize for the inconvenience it caused to your business or home activities.

We appreciate your patience as we work to continually improve your internet experience.

Sincerely,
The Velocity Broadband Team

Network Update - Service Restored βœ…

Hi everyone, quick update on internet performance today. While the Velocity Broadband network here in Mena remained fully operational, we experienced an issue with one of our upstream fiber providers that connects into one of the large backbone providers Cogent, at their Dallas facility.

Their connection route was intermittently dropping packets, which may have caused slowness or interruptions for some users.

Good news! We've confirmed that the issue with them and their Cogent connection has just been resolved, and service through that path is back to normal.

We apologize for any inconvenience this external issue may have caused and appreciate your patience. If you continue to experience problems, please reach out to our support team.

We wanted to give our Velocity Broadband Internet customers an update regarding yesterday's service interruptions (Wednesday, April 2nd). Unfortunately, we sustained a direct lightning strike that passed through and knocked out some crucial equipment at our central tower, causing outages from approximately 2:45 PM to 6:00 PM and again from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Our amazing technicians worked tirelessly, even with the continued threat of lightning in the area and in the rain, to get everyone back online as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding as we dealt with this unexpected event.

In addition, behind the scenes at Velocity Broadband Internet, we have been working on boosting our network infrastructure! Our new central tower setup will establish a multi-tiered, interconnected system between all our towers, creating enhanced redundancy for superior uptime. This complements our existing redundant fiber pathways into Mena, ensuring multiple layers of protection against service interruptions. We're dedicated to keeping you online!

Going forward, if you experience an issue, our automated support line will be equipped to let you know if it's a known outage we're actively working on. We'll also be providing regular status updates here on Facebook and our new revamped website when it is completed to keep everyone informed and reduce the volume of inquiries so our team can focus on restoration.

We will be conducting maintenance at our V1 tower tonight at midnight, which may cause a temporary outage of approximately one hour for some customers. We anticipate full service restoration by 1 AM.

We have switched to a new billing platform that has a customer portal feature and will automate and streamline our billing to our customers. Please be patient as we assist in the transition with each customer. Some of you may notice an incorrect balance that is because the balance forward that was imported had to be imported a couple days before the 1st and then some payments were made right at the last of December and we'll have to go remove those balance forwards. Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

If it is your first time accessing the portal, please click the very bottom link "New portal user? Register an account here!" above English for the language. This will allow you to setup your Portal Access.

Our primary wireless connection to the fiber runs over 2 x 11Ghz units, which are 2015 models. The manufacturer informed us during a support case regarding the poor performance during these cold temperatures that there was a known issue that they have since resolved in their newer models. The issue in the 2015 models for that link, was that when temperatures reach the teens, they do not function properly.
Our techs are switching out the 11Ghz units with the issue, and there will be some periods of outages from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM today. We have to complete the work on the towers while the wind and temperatures are not too low, which is why it can't be done in the middle of the night as usual for maintenance windows. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to provide the highest quality and uptime.
