At ACEC Tennessee's 2025 Engineering Excellence Awards in Nashville earlier this week, OGCB's work on the First Horizon Headquarters Chiller Replacement was recognized with an Honor Award for Building/Technology Systems. The design sought to replace the two original water chilling machines (installed in 1964) with new chillers. The project preserved chiller plant capacity redundancy, coordinated with the existing plant's medium-voltage electrical service, staged installation to avoid disruption to chilled water production, integrated with existing chilled water piping, and provided a solution for future chiller removal and replacement.

OGCB thanks our design team, including partners at Burr & Cole Consulting Engineers, the construction team at CS3, and our client, First Horizon National Bank.

OGCB went to Nashville earlier this week for ACEC Tennessee's annual Engineering Excellence Awards. Over 30 projects in ten categories were honored this year, all designed by Tennessee engineering firms. We are pleased to share that the conceptual design study for an adaptive reuse renovation of The Sterick received the Grand Award for Studies, Research and Consulting Engineering Services. Plenty of work remains to be done before the Queen of Memphis can officially reopen her doors to new occupants, but the team is in place and looking forward to continuing our work.

Thanks to the team on The Sterick, including Constellation Properties, LRK, Chad Stewart Associates, WJE, Grinder Taber Grinder, and ENFRA.

We spend much of our time on the design process, but those designs don't benefit anyone until a team of contractors actually builds what we've drawn. Some days, we get to leave the office and check on construction sites where that work is happening. These are some process photos of two projects that we are eager to see come to fruition.

This is a positive affirmation of what a team can achieve when they work together. Our in-house design team was part of a much larger team that combined to make Crosstown Concourse successful.

Crosstown Concourse is committed to environmental sustainability! Concourse was recently awarded, for the second time, the Governor's Environmental Stewardship Award.

Congratulations to the team that makes it possible: Looney Ricks Kiss, OGCB, Inc., Cushman & Wakefield Commercial Advisors, Trane, and Sterling.

Happy Earth Day from OGCB!

Happy Earth Day from OGCB!

Happy Earth Day! Did you know that Crosstown Concourse is the world’s largest adaptive reuse project to earn LEED Platinum certification? Deep within the bones of the building lies a network of environmentally friendly infrastructure, such as high-tech HVAC and ventilation/filtration systems that reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.

We also have a recycling program, and we’re in the beginning stages of implementing a composting program.

Congratulations to Crosstown Concourse on the Gold Medal in the 2019 Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence.
