As 2025 comes to a close, we pause to reflect on a year that required strength when the road was hard, courage when the outcome was uncertain, mercy when grace was needed most, and gratitude for every lesson, blessing, and breakthrough along the way.

This year shaped us. It stretched us. And it reminded us that even in the challenges, there was purpose—often wrapped in growth we didn’t see at first.

Now we step toward 2026 with hope in our hearts and faith in what’s ahead. Carrying the wisdom of where we’ve been, the grace we’ve been given, and the confidence to move forward with intention.

Here’s to new beginnings, deeper purpose, and a future filled with promise.

For the Reliance Cares Season of Giving, Southern Steel Supply was so excited to sponsor children for Christmas through the DeSoto Dream Center.

The DeSoto Dream Center is such a worthy and worthwhile organization! There are over 12,000 children and families that face poverty and hopelessness around DeSoto County. The DeSoto Dream Center is working to change that. They believe that when poverty is addressed, communities thrive and people start to see things in a better way. The Dream Center provides the basic necessities of food, clothing, education, and healthcare. They offer a "hand-up" rather than a "hand-out", giving these families a chance to dream again.

This year, Southern Steel had the privilege of pulling tags for 16 deserving children and 3 young adults to help make their Christmas a little brighter. 🎄✨

Our Division Manager, Mike Jewell , took the 16 children’s tags and turned it into a special family night—choosing clothing and toys together, and showing his family what the spirit of giving truly looks like.

And Richard Overturf generously sponsored the 3 young adults himself, gifting each of them a $50 gift card to help them feel seen and supported during the holiday season.

We are so blessed to be part of a company that truly understands what this season is all about—giving back to our communities, loving on people in need, and making a meaningful impact on the lives around us.

We’re building a legacy of generosity, compassion, and community—and that’s something we can all be proud of. ❤️✨

On Fridays in October, we wear pink!

We are proud to support breast cancer awareness and spread the knowledge that early detection saves lives!

Dawn Raymond wore a special shirt today. Her pink shirt was her mother’s. Here is her story: “My mom fought an aggressive and terminal breast cancer for 4 years. That cancer took her from me on Sept 25, 2002. My momma was only 54 years old. But either the year before she passed, or the year before that, I can’t recall, she felt drawn to the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. She had brittle bones from chemo and radiation, and had taken a fall a short time before the race. She did major tendon and ligament damage in both ankles, with a break as well. So she was booted up and in a wheelchair, which is not the ideal situation for a race. But she insisted, so my friends and I took turns wheeling her through the race and got her across the finish line in under an hour. Which was no easy feat. This is her survivor shirt that she got for the race. I have had it 23 years and I will keep it forever. And I will always remember that Race for the Cure! So today I wear this shirt in memory of my mom, a true fighter.”

Since we have become part of Siskin Steel, a world of changes (for the good) and opportunities have opened for us. We thank you and take part in celebrating this milestone with you from all the way in Memphis, TN.
So congratulations on 125 years, and we look forward to many many more!

Last night a few of us had the pleasure of getting a brief tour of the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis, as we sponsored last night’s family dinner and hosted a BINGO night for the families staying there. This was our first time partnering with RMHC to host an event, and I already have several ideas for potential upcoming events that we could host. It went over really well and each person that played last night, won BINGO at least once...some several times! They got to choose their own prizes, and even chose prizes early on for others that had not had BINGO yet. It was so sweet to see people just genuinely being kind to each other. We had a few laughs too. Southern Steel Supply Company is REALLY looking forward to developing a strong relationship with RMHC, and we thank them for allowing us to spend time with their families!
