Trade #1 is in the books. I just got off the phone with my old buddy Ricky Neal. Ricky and his son Michael are building a 34 Dodge. Not sure what I'm getting yet but Ricky should have something cool laying around. I'll keep you guys in the loop.

Hey Everybody
Shawn from Hot Rod Blues and Kingfish metal works here. Just wanted to tell you guys about my latest adventure. I'm going to add a new spin on an old idea. I will be trading my way up from a gifted car part to a traditional Hot Rod. That's right, the goal is to horse trade my way into an old Ford with no money down. I can see where you might be a little skeptical. Well , this is how I hope to do it
So, it's all about the trade. All trades will be for cars or car related items. This could range from parts to Gas signs. The only cash I will spend is cash from things that I acquire from this project. I will only spend this cash on repairs or enhancements to parts or cars that I acquire. Who knows, I may need a head gasket or a tire .If you are in the car community, you know how parts are passed around. With a little luck, this might be my saving grace. I hope to list everything on Facebook but I'm open to working the swap meets as well as eBay.
This is my favorite part. I plan to document every trade, purchase and repair. You guys will be able to meet everyone that participates in this shanagan on the Hot Rod Blues YouTube page. I hope to have video of everything. If you have ever built a car, you know that the best part of the build is the hunt and the people you meet. Shoot, I once bought a transmission from a guy at a statue of Popeye in Chester Illinois. My point is, I want to meet you guys. I want to meet your wife and kids. I want to hear your stories. The people of the hot rod and car community are the reason I love this hobby so much, And in true Hot Rod Blues fashion, I plan to drag these heathens from the podcast along for the ride.
