On January 17 we celebrated the official ribbon cutting of the Elise Tomlin Empowerment Center in Groveland, Florida. This project, led by Anointed Community Services under Pastor Linda Cowels, aims to uplift single women with children, homeless veterans, seniors, and members of the Groveland, FL community through educational programs, vocational training, and vital support services.

Our design embraces the rich history of the community, ensuring a functional and welcoming space. A big thank you to .construction, Gmuer Engineering , GSE Engineering & Consulting, Inc. , Mitchell Gulledge Engineering , and Engineering, LLC for their collaboration in making this vision a reality!

Check out this link from Walker Architects, Inc. for the UF Childhood Collaboratory at Baby Gator project we recently completed along with Decker Construction, Mitchell Gulledge Engineering and CHW. Working with UF and the design and contruction team helped produce and outstanding project for the Owner.

Got the latest AISC Steel Construction Manual today thanks to Atlas Tube . The new 2023 16th edition. This completes my collection going back to the First Edition 1928 before calculators and you had slide rules and charts of numbers to do the math. Early on all the manufacturers such as Carnegie and Bethlehem had their own shapes before they became standardized.

Florida has changed their CEU reporting requirements this year. We now must use the NCEES (National Council for Examiners for Engineering and Surveying) Continuing Professional Competency tracker. Spent all morning getting hours and course put in. We have to spend a fair amount of time staying current with training in order to maintain our licensure.

One of the strictest structural designs you can do since this is an 'essential' facility. The project had to follow the strict citeria of the International Code Council's ICC 500 Standard for storm shelter design. All contruction is designed for hurricane missle impact resistance and an enhanced hurricane wind speed. The facility is designed to be fully functioning and operational for 72 hours in the event of a natural disaster.
