SUPERMAN SHOPS AT NAPA AND STANDARD FEEDS
We were able to capture rare photos of Superman without his Kryptonian skinsuit and cape. Alter ego Linden White flies around the area with his dump truck, forestry mulching machine, and good-guy persona.
Folks in Meeker have Linden and his business Bucket Full of Dirt to thank for the pristine condition of Meeker Lake for the upcoming Fourth of July children’s parade and fireworks show. He’s the one who sweeps in with his equipment and mows the park. Heck, last year, he even created the sand barge so families could enjoy the lake from a different perspective.
Linden is all in for being a local, community guy in smallville Meeker. In addition to volunteering his time and resources, he supports local businesses, knows the civic and community leaders, and even married a gal he found at St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee.
One of the businesses that Linden supports is E & J NAPA and Standard Feeds in Meeker. “I buy my goat feed, chicken feed, and dog food there,” he said.
“I also buy my oil, grease, and parts for my business there, too,” he continued. “And, if they don’t have my parts, I order them and have them delivered there.”
Linden and wife Frances, and two-year-old-daughter Sophia, have two dogs, eight goats, and thirty-five birds including chickens and ducks. Wally, a Boxer, and Leo, a Dogo Argentino, love the Valu Pak dog food from E & J NAPA and Standard Feeds. It’s 28 percent crude protein and 20 percent crude fat. Other quality ingredients include chicken and pork, and whole grain brown rice, dried green peas, dried beet pulp, and flaxseed.
“It’s cheap but works good,” Linden shared.
The Whites secured Leo when they bought rural property west of Meeker. “These dogs are specially bred for big-game hunting like wild boar and puma.”
Linden tells the story of him and Leo being on their back deck around midnight not too long ago. “I could sense that Leo’s back hair was starting to stand up. I looked over to the side and in the streetlight of the yard, I saw a big Mountain Lion standing there looking at us. I told Leo to calm down and stay put. Slowly, the Mountain Lion sheared off into the woods.”
Linden says this isn’t the first time they’ve seen a Mountain Lion.
In addition to seeing danger, Linden fights for truth, justice, and the American Way. “That’s basically why I started my business. When we were putting in our driveway, I called half a dozen people for gravel. No one would call me back. I made it my motto to ALWAYS answer phone calls and ALWAYS return phone calls.”
