Ok. Got all the heavy metal removed the the radial drill holes. Now to the balancer to get it spun and see what we have to do.

Well, here is my first experience with the new Summit Racing Blue Print blocks. This is a small block Chevy for a local shop. First look is pretty decent. There are a few things you need to look out for, like the oil passage hole from the oil filter mount is only 7/16” diameter. I opened up that. Not much material for deck machining. That’s probably my biggest bitch. Cylinders were off location more than I thought they’d be. Thankfully this block was going +.040 and had plenty of room to correct. Have not checked lifter bores yet but that’s next.

Boring the rear main cap vertically was the way to go on the T&S Blockmaster CNC 
Worked out perfectly

Setting up the Gen 3 hemi on the CNC for a verticle bore of the replacement rear main cap. Surprisingly this Dart block was really square on the timing cover surface. Only had to shim 1 side .0015

Well, if you follow along with us, we have the Big 3 Racing Gen 3 Hemi block back for a rear main cap repair. After a manufacture part failure, the rear main cap suffered some damage. So now we fit a replacement cap.
