-Sold- I just finished fixing up this Pioneer SX-580 receiver and it's looking for a new home! Everything works and it’s in good shape. Also comes with the original box and packaging!
Cosmetically not flawless, but still in good shape. As is standard for Pioneer receivers from this era, the vinyl wrap has started to lift in a few places and there’s a light scratch on the top where it lifted some off. It also has a cut in the plastic bezel just above the Stereo light (see pictures). Beyond that, the glass and faceplate are in perfect shape and there are no dents or deep scratches in any of the wooden parts. Even the feet are solid and in good shape. Plus, it comes with the original packaging!
As far as performance goes, everything is working great! I rebuilt the power supply, cleaned all the controls and relay contacts, replaced all known-problematic transistors, and applied fresh thermal paste to the output packs. AM, FM Stereo/Muting, Phono, Aux, and Tape are all verified working. All of the lights are good. In short, it’s a fully functional receiver!
This little receiver puts out 20 watts per channel and is perfect for a dorm room, work space, or a bigger room with efficient speakers. Asking $250. Audition in McPherson.
