The story follows Sterlingwood Condominiums, a ski-in, ski-out community in upper Deer Valley built back in the 1980s. After more than 40 years, the original cedar siding was ready to retire. Instead of replacing it with more of the same, Fine Construction reclad the buildings in ACRE, our tree-free siding made from upcycled rice hulls, as part of a year-long exterior renovation that also included new roofing, added insulation, waterproofing, and rebuilt decks.
The team weighed several materials first, premium aluminum included. Operations Manager David Fine on why ACRE won: "It checked all the boxes."
It still looks like real wood against the mountains. It just does not ask for a refinishing every few years to keep it that way.
