👀 Instagram saw it first!

Same office. Very different desks.

From technical drawings and precise layouts to creative strategy and visual storytelling, there's a lot of different expertise at work behind the scenes at Walker.

And while our desks might look a little different, attention to detail is something we all have in common. (So is the caffeine consumption.) ☕️

To most people, it's damaged concrete. To an engineer, it's a clue.

Understanding what caused the deterioration is just as important as identifying the damage itself.

Walker's restoration consultant Daniel Rodriguez, CDT wants building owners to know about the importance of regular inspections. 👇

🏗️ What does design-build collaboration look like two years into a major project?

At the Patrick V. McNamara Federal Building in downtown Detroit, Walker Consultants and Pullman Services have been working together to bring engineering and construction expertise to the same table throughout the project.

Walker’s Evan Donovan, PE is onsite multiple times each week, working alongside the project team as the work moves closer to completion. During a recent visit with Pullman’s marketing team, the conversation turned to the design-build process itself and how close coordination between disciplines can support a project from design through construction.

📍 More to come from this one.

What does a career in engineering actually look like?

At the Holmes Aero Academy Postsecondary Options Fair in Chicago, our team introduced students to the many paths within engineering and architecture, sharing how we found our own way into the profession and what those careers can look like in practice.

The students came ready with thoughtful questions about careers, their communities, and the built environment.

Sometimes discovering a career starts simply with knowing it exists.
