Mayfield Grain Company

Mayfield Grain Company Mayfield Grain Company, Inc., founded in 1986, began serving the agriculture community at its North 9th Street location with 750,000 bushels of grain storage.

Four years later, we acquired a second facility on Allen Street, which increased our grain handling capacity, as well as gained a fertilizer facility. The fertilizer facility includes dry and liquid fertilizers, and anhydrous ammonia. In 2004, Mayfield Grain merged business with Sunwray Fertilizer on highway 94 west. Now Sunwray Fertilizer is known as Mayfield Grain 94. With this acquisition we ga

ined a gas station, more grain storage, and more fertilizer facilities. In August of 2007 we remodeled the southside office and brought the bookkeepers over. If you need to pick up a check or sign a contract everything is now in one location. Today we are a full service agricultural dealer. In addition to over 4 million bushels of grain storage, we also sell seed, chemicals, fertilizer, lime, and have a complete line of custom application equipment to better serve the entire Purchase Area. In August of 2012, we purchased the Graves County Co-Op property, right across the road from our Southside location. We have gained much more warehouse space and pride ourselves on being one of the largest Anhydrous Ammonia handlers in the Ohio Valley. We pride ourselves as being an INDEPENDENTLY owned and operated dealership! We praise our customers for buying local. Thanks to all of our customers for your business and loyalty over the years. We appreciate everyone!

Mayfield Grain has been proudly serving the area since 1986. Due to the extent of the damage received in the December 10th tornado ware making the decision to cease operations. This is not an easy decision as it affects so many families from our employees to our customers. The friendships we have developed over the last 36 years are priceless. We cannot thank each of you enough for trusting Mayfield Grain with your business.

Throughout life we encounter personal storms. How we let those storms affect us tells a lot about our faith. I still stand firm that my God has a greater purpose for this storm. Today it is hard to see through to the other side, but I have faith my God is still in control.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (in red letters) John 16:33

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” ( these words are in red letters)
‭‭John‬ ‭16:33‬ ‭

First of all I would like to thank God for showing mercy on my family and our work family. We all came out unscathed. The damage is unreal, pictures don’t do it justice. To say we are overwhelmed is correct, but we are also overwhelmed by the outpouring of calls , text, and emails from customers friends, vendors all wanting to lend a hand. I apologize if I have not been able to reply to everyone or answer all the calls. We honestly don’t know where to begin. We need a few days to get a plan together and we will try to update plans of a temporary office.

We don’t know why, but we know every storm has a purpose. Don’t get it twisted, God is not mad at this town, but Christians it is your time to shine, be a light for someone, share the word about Jesus with someone. How you deal with this storm will be a testament to others.

Thanks again for all the love and support! I will leave you with a before and after photo showing how quickly over 30 years of building a business can change.
