Today we continue to celebrate a DGL living legend – Scot Morehouse. After 43 years with the firm, Scot is retiring to spend more time with family, at the golf course, and at his cigar lounge.
Scot began working in the bridge department of Dansard, Grohnke, and Long Ltd., well before our name was shortened. Over the past four decades, he has helped shape the way we travel in Northwest Ohio and has mentored generations of engineers who are here to carry the torch.
As a well-respected engineer and the undisputed office king of one-liners, Scot taught us what we know about working hard while having some fun at the same time.
Look back at Scot's career and join us in thanking him for 43 years of dedication, mentorship, and laughs.

Two long-time colleagues, who know Scot best, wanted to share a few thoughts.
Laurie Adams: The office is losing its resident comedian and its secret weapon! Scot has always kept us laughing, while delivering the perfect, thoughtful insight right when we needed it. Scot inspired DGL’s motto “we work hard while having fun”. I value our friendship over the last 40 years.
Nick Lake: I have always admired how Scot balances humor and seriousness. True, he likes to joke around but also, he takes pride in his work. Also, he has always been the most ethical engineer that I know. I owe much of what I know as a structural engineer and how to act in a professional setting to Scot.
