To our many friends, customers, vendors,
In 2012, Xtreme Armor began with a makeshift bay at the pole barn of our home spraying bedliners. I’m frequently teased from my family about commenting that I needed to do one truck bed a month to pay for the equipment. Thank you to Adam Fifield for the support over the years and providing me with a truck to take to training! Over a few years, one truck bed quickly turned into hundreds and a move to a commercial location in Mattoon was in the works. Todd Fuller graciously rented us a single bay with a showroom! It was during that time that we expanded into other services and accessories. After a few years of amazing growth, Todd saw we had grown beyond that location and facilitated the building of a new four-bay building and showroom for us to purchase! We had plenty of room to work and grow into additional services!
A couple of months after moving in, we had a major loss fire. However, we never missed a day’s work, and we owe that appreciation, and so much more to the incredible employees and our family, we’ve had along the way. They have always been the pride and backbone of the business, and many times the reason we persevered for so many years. We will never forget the words of support from TJ Dosch, Keith Summers, and Pat Renfro during that difficult event, and we came back stronger than before.
However, the time has now come for the truly difficult decisions. Where the exciting and challenging progress from the sweat and emotions of many years must be weighed against stages of our lives. Xtreme Armor will be closing on June 30th. It is our hope that a local entrepreneur will take the reins of this incredible business of nearly 15 years and make it their own to build upon the many amazing relationships established along the way.
To the many families, vendors, automotive dealerships, collision repair centers, construction and utility companies, we sincerely thank you. Your patronage was always more than a purchase to us. To our friends at First Neighbor Bank, Dimond Bros., Oetting & Associates, and our family, we are deeply appreciative.
