Recently, we officially welcomed Phil Hemker to the Production Team as our new Tower Operator! Phil brings over a decade of hands-on production and operations experience, with a strong background in managing teams, optimizing workflows, and driving efficiency across complex processes. He has successfully led large-scale production environments, overseeing staffing, scheduling, quality control, and safety.

He has already been recognized for his positive attitude and problem-solving mindset here at Wehmeyer Seed, and we know he will help us improve processes and maintain high operational standards. We are so excited to have him. Welcome to the team!!

It’s that time of year where it’s likely we find our founder in a wheat plot or field! A lot to look at right now. In Southern IL the wheat is heading earlier than last year due to recent warm temps. We will be seeing some apps happening to the earlier maturity varieties this week!

Meet Drew 🌱 As our Seed Production Grower Manager, Drew oversees thousands of acres of soybeans and wheat each year. For him, it’s about more than just the crop. It’s about relationships, trust, and doing right by the growers we serve.

From his roots on a family farm to his role at Wehmeyer Seed, agriculture has always been a part of who he is. Whether he’s working with growers in the field or spending time with his family outdoors, that passion shows up in everything he does.

It’s people like Drew who make our mission possible: delivering high-quality seed with a high-quality experience from planting through harvest. We're so grateful to have him on the team!
