We are a small family owned business specializing in custom metal fabrication. We are located in the East bay area. We are currently looking for a shop hand/helper. We specialize in structural steel, welding and repair. We are looking for an experienced individual that can perform metal cutting, handling, clean up and organizational skills. Self motivation and being a team player is a must. Able to work in a fast paced environment, with good customer service skills. Basic mechanical skills is a must.

Job task includes:

Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using measuring tapes.
Must be able to read and use a measuring tape using mathematical skills
Examine metal stock for work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
Stock raw materials such as tubing, plate, pipe, channel, beam etc..
Lift or move materials and finished products, using lift or hoist
Locate and mark work pieces for customer will call
Move parts into position, manually or with a forklift
Setup and operate fabricating machinery, such as shears, saws, press brakes, flame cutters, grinders, drill press, to bend, cut, punch, drill or to form and assemble metal components
Valid forklift certification
Hammer, grind work pieces to be cut, bent
Painting experience using rollers and brushes
General knowledge of cleaning and organizing
Estimate materials needed for production and manufacturing
Clamp, hold, bolt components together for required jobs per specs
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
Basic mechanical knowledge using tools
Must own small hand tools and steel toe boots
Must have valid CA drivers license
