A lady stopped by the Honey Hut & asked me if I collected Swarms? I said I would be at her house in about 15 minutes, this Swarm was gone, I walked around the area & they were no where in site. The next evening she calls & has a Swarm under her table, So I started catching that easy Swarm. While the Bees were going into the box I started back to the car & looked up into a tree. I saw another Swarm about 15' off the ground. So I grabbed another Box & my bucket on a pole. I gathered all the Bees I could in the bucket & dumped them into the Box. So within a very short time I had two Swarms going into a new home. These Swarms were coming from the eve next door, & Bees were still in that house. Could possible pick up another Swarm latter in the season.

CaptainJack saved these two Swarms 1 yesterday evening & 1 this afternoon. Put them both into CaptainJack's Sanctuary for safe keeping, Both went into CaptainJack's Sanctuary #3.

It's Swarm Season Folks, if you see something like this & it's not very high up, give me a call, I rescue Bees folks. I put them into my Bee Sanctuary in a new home & I take care of them & in return they give me a little bit of Honey to sell. I run a Treatment free Sanctuary, that means I do not treat with any kind of Chemicals in their hives. I let them be natural as possible & only step in to help them when they get into trouble. I save as many as possible.

WHO YOU GOING TO CALL? CaptainJack's HONEY HUT @ 1618-922-1199, & thank you & God Bless, Marion Ill area.

Okay have not been here for a while, been busy with Bees.

Let me share with you this morning in I may.

These are called cut-outs for a reason, they require removing material to get to the Bees. Cut-outs take time & cost money, because you may spend hours just to get the Bees into a box to bring home. Then you have a mess to be cleaned back up & replace whatever you had to cut out. The higher the bees are the more equipment you will need. Everybody doesn't have a high lift & to rent one you are talking a junk of change. So this is why we can't find anyone around to do the job. So if you need a cut-out, then call a carpenter to get an idea of the cost. Most will decide to leave the Bees alone & hope they will just leave & not hurt anything inside the structure.

I hope that this explains the difference between a cut-out & a Swarm. If you need to contact me please come to my personal page, CaptainJack L. Spani Sr. & maybe I can give you information that will help. Thank you & God Bless.

This sombre video captures a honey bee in her final moments, a natural but often misunderstood part of bee life. It's crucial for beekeepers to recognize signs of bee mortality, as it can indicate broader issues within the hive, from disease outbreaks like Nosema to pesticide exposure. Understanding these end-of-life behaviours aids in maintaining hive health and preempting potential crises. It serves as a stark reminder of the delicate balance in ecosystems and the importance of our stewardship. 🐝✨
