Just finished these 2 wedding bands. The material is called “mokume gane” which is basically non-ferrous Damascus. This particular combination is a tri-tone with Copper, Brass, & Nickel with a sterling silver core on the inside. Depending on the customer’s budget it can also be done with Gold, Silver, Rose Gold, alloyed steel, etc… The technique is done at a very specific temperature to fuse the layers of metal together. It’s different from making Damascus because Damascus uses welding temps, while this techniques uses brazing temps.

Well, I’ve Begun the Raffle Blade. AND it’s going to a good cause. A family lost their home due to a massive tree falling on it and insurance will not cover it. The money from the blade will Go to the family to help buy a new trailer home. Raffle tickets will be available soon. Labor & materials will bring this blade to around $7,000 value. Here is a small hint of what the design will be:

It says in the book of Acts in the Bible “There were no needy people among them, because those who owned land or houses would sell them and bring the money to the apostles to give to those in need.”
It’s obvious that that as time goes on, we learn that we cannot put trust in insurance companies & government… No Man is self made, but is made up by the communities & friends around him.

I’ll be posting photos and filming the process of making this blade.

This is a decorative bar I made to go across a window in a bathroom above a clawfoot tub so the home owners could pass inspection and get their CO. There are Zero welds and the joint on the end is called a Mortise and Tenon Wedge. The twist in the bar is a reverse twist. The piece is made from 1” solid square bar, 53” long, weighs about 20lbs, and took 3 days to make.
