Last year, we designed and developed a unique antenna, especially created to survive the environment outside the International Space Station. The ISS is a growing satellite operating just below space, where the atmosphere is very light. We delivered 10 of our antennas for installation on the ISS. The first 4 went up on the last flight of Space Shuttle Endeavour, 2011 May 16, Mission STS-134. They were installed on the International Space Station as part of a communications link. Their placement and images of the finished antenna assemblies are discussed at minute 10:30 of the NASA Brief below (NASA YouTube Video). The additional antennas flew on the last Shuttle flight, Mission STS-135, on 2011 July 8. These antennas are in current use.
