BWEN thinks big about honoring our military. Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, began after the Civil War to honor fallen soldiers. Since then, Memorial Day has evolved into a nationwide day of remembrance, honoring the sacrifices of all U.S. military personnel who gave their lives in service to the country. Our greatest thanks go to those who give their lives in service.
God Bless America.

Broadwind thinks big about 27-year-old employee Gabriel Gonzales!
Abilene, TX Heavy Fabrication’s employee Gabriel helped save a man in a burning vehicle after hearing the crash. He jumped on his dirt bike and drove a block to the wreck where he saw smoke and fire coming from the vehicle. He realized someone was stuck inside the crashed vehicle. In his quick thinking, Gabe raced back to his house, grabbed a fire extinguisher and went back to the crash to put out the blaze. When asked Gabe said, “I did what I did because it was the right thing to do. I couldn’t imagine burning alive, so I was going to do everything in my power to keep that from happening.”
Gabe’s split-second thinking saved a life! We are so proud of him.

Broadwind thinks big about employee safety!
A safety shout-out to our Abilene, TX team. Heavy manufacturing jobs are physical, and our teams prepare every morning to take on their very demanding day. If we can eliminate sprains and strains, it’s good for everyone.

From our sister company...
Brad Foote Gear thinks big about new product and process introduction.
When approached to be a critical supplier for precision gear components serving the power generation market, the team hit the ground running. They exceeded our new customer’s expectations despite a tight timeline, exploding demand and no room for error. Through careful collaboration, attention to “Voice of the Customer” and top-notch operational ex*****on, Brad Foote Gear onboarded as a prime supplier in less than 12 months culminating in delivering our PPAP, allowing for this order to be introduced into the customer’s schedule in January 2026. Brad Foote delivered on a new product and process introduction well before their expected timeline of 14 – 16 months and with no delays along the way.
If you need a true collaborative partner for your precision machined components, gearing or otherwise, reach out to Brad Foote Gear. VP of Sales: [email protected]

Broadwind thinks big about our many Veterans.
Veterans Day, originally known as Armistice Day, is observed annually on November 11 and honors all military veterans. This day coincides with holidays in several countries including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.

Veterans Day is distinct from Memorial Day as it commemorates the service of all U.S. veterans, while Memorial Day specifically honors those who have died while in military service.
