The PC600 pipe profiling machine from is an automated plasma pipe cutting machine for cutting pipe from 2” -24”. This is a workhorse of a machine designed to rip through pipe spools with automatic parts nesting, 3D Cam software, parts etching, fume extraction and a pantograph 8-axis cutting head. ⚠️Tricky Application⚠️GSI was called out to help this customer find a solution to machine this 2” fl**ge in place which was welded onto the tank at a 45 degree angle, providing just 3.5” of radial clearance on one side! In order to allow our FlangeHog tool to fit, we removed the feed k**b, mounted the clamp ribs just above the raised face and fed the tool backwards (out to in). This allowed us to touch off of the raised face and set our cut depth just outside of the raised face.

If you are a pipe fabricator or a tank fabricator this is a tool you want to have in your toolbox! Save time by machining fl**ges in place rather than cutting them off to be machined at a shop and having to re-weld them back on. Plus you get a nice phonographic surface finish which the QC department will love!
