Recently, Rebekah Gebru helped spark curiosity and creativity in the next generation of engineers. She volunteered her time mentoring a group of 4th to 6th grade students at Nashua PAL through an interactive presentation on aviation, then guided them as they designed their own airports using hands-on tools. From big ideas to thoughtful questions, it was inspiring to see young minds take flight and explore what is possible in engineering.

This historic preservation project combined innovative engineering solutions with thoughtful restoration to maintain the character of the 1896 stone arch bridge while improving long-term resiliency and structural performance.

Hoyle Tanner’s Maplewood Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Portsmouth, NH earned a Silver Engineering Excellence Award for its innovative, preservation-focused design that restored a historic 1896 bridge while extending its service life for decades.
