The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) decided to sell their downtown Silver Spring, MD location that had served as its headquarters and chose to relocate to Old Town Alexandria. Overlooking the Potomac River this 10,000 square-foot space was constructed of concrete, which fit perfectly with Winstanley Architects and Planners award-winning design intent. This impressive office space is to house 26 employees: the engineers, architects, education and advocacy professionals who provide services to the concrete industry.

From the moment you enter the reception lobby a stunning coffered ceiling plastered Honed in Armourcoat Koncrete, immediately catches the eye. This custom tinted Honed Koncrete is a natural lime and marble polished plaster, beautifully hand-troweled over 4,700 square-foot of the office space. As part of the interior design by Winstanley, the intent was to give the walls an industrial concrete-type look. The skilled artisans at Senza Fine’ utilized over 3,600 feet of artistic tape and 2,200 one-inch round stencils and with meticulous placement, impeccable timing and patience were able to deliver just that.

A new East Coast hub for Qualtrics, a leader in the experience management sector, will serve as a center of excellence for the business and lead to the creation of 400 new tech jobs in the Washington metro area over the next five years. The office in Reston Station, a rapidly growing area for top tech, defense and service companies, includes 650 square feet of Armourcoat Armuralia expertly installed by the craftsmen at Senza Finé.

The design of the 85,000 square foot facility was conceived by IA Interiors Architects, with a playful touch - the office games room features retro Space Invader wall art with a background of seamless hand-applied polished plaster in a light gray color. Armuralia is a superfine, mid-sheen polished plaster with subtle linear burring created by the hand of the applicator. Designed by SmithGroup JJR, The Cantata has views of the Capitol and a host of amenities including a fitness center, rooftop swimming pool and entertainment areas. One Bethesda Center, a Class ‘A’ 12-story office building at 4800 Hampden Lane, MD has undergone a $10 million renovation. Updates to the building include a new fitness center, a new conference center and a remodeled lobby featuring polished plaster wall finishes by Senza Finé.

Reflecting the transformation of the Marriott brand, their new Capitol Hill hotel delivers imaginative contemporary design with crisp streamlined architecture and decor. The design intent continues with the inspired use of hand-crafted wall finishes by Senza Finé.

This sophisticated 235-room hotel is a true urban retreat situated within the recently developed NoMa Center, just walking distance to the US Capitol. The hotel’s design by Akseizer Design Group utilizes materials which are polished and refined, combining with angular forms to embody the chic and elegant style of D.C.

Armourcoat Sculptural in the ‘Quench’ design was expertly installed by Senza Finé’s craftsman in the lobby bar, to produce a bold, crisp wall finish with sharp angled surfaces. The large-scale geometric design creates a cell shaded effect with varying levels of shadow intensity. Armourcoat Sculptural offers a seamless three-dimensional wall covering, adding depth and grandeur to any space. Each of the 27 designs is created using a combination of traditional hand sculpting and Computer Aided Design to ensure total accuracy during installation whilst retaining the essence of hand crafting.

The specification also includes over 500 square feet of Armourcoat polished plaster finishes within some of the guest suites, together with columns on the second floor and entrance to Yara, the rooftop restaurant and bar. A six-story 173-unit development close to the Ballston Metro, 672 Flats presents a modern industrial interior with resident facilities at its heart. Resort-inspired features include a massive sports bar and game room with billiards, poker table, shuffleboard, air hockey and video games. Specialist installers at Senza Finé hand-applied close to 900 square feet of Armourcoat polished plaster finishes in the game room and leasing office.

A black Spatulata plaster finish with a cross-hatched design provides a dramatic backdrop for colorful artwork and designer furnishing. The Forbes Center for the Performing Arts at the James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, is a major performance venue designed to perfection. With its soaring floor-to-ceiling glass lobbies, state-of-the-art auditoriums and polished plaster finishes by Senza Finé the center is worthy of a standing ovation.

As an incredible demonstration of the longevity of polished plaster finishes, specialist applicators from Senza Finé revisited the Forbes Center for a simple rewax and polish, with the project originally completed over thirteen years ago for Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company. The center houses five performance venues including the 450-seat mainstage theater, finished in over 4,000 square feet of Texston Veneciano lime plaster.

A fine lime paste plaster, Veneciano creates a smooth wall finish with naturally occurring color variation. Giving surfaces a sense of depth and motion, the finish achieved can range from matte to a slick, high polished sheen. The new $200 million General Assembly Building in downtown Richmond carefully preserves local historic, 19th-century facades with new construction to provide offices, committee and public meeting rooms for the State Senate, House of Delegates and their legislative staff.
