The Geotechnical Assistant will work with the Geotechnical Project Manager to deliver projects on time, on budget and exceed client expectations. SCE will provide our Geotechnical Assistant with the necessary support and resources to excel and become an integral part of the project team.
The Geotechnical Assistant is responsible for several job-related tasks including, but not limited to, conducting fieldwork, clearing utilities, reading, and interpreting site plans, Data Entry (Word, Excel, Power Point, gINT, Adobe, etc.), logging laboratory samples, and reviewing Geotechnical reports to develop a big picture understanding of the project.
The Geotechnical Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Staff Engineer Department. This includes developing reports, clearing utilities, communicating with the laboratory and office effectively.
Qualifications
Engineering or Geology Bachelor’s Degree, GIT a plus
Soil log description and characterization
Fieldwork experience
Required Skills/Behaviors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Sense of critical time management skills to complete tasks according to contract deadline
Ability to use good judgement and make suggestions to the engineer or PM
