Castillo Engineering didn’t start as a nationwide solar engineering firm. It started with Rick Castillo, a few solar water heaters, and a belief that honest, high-quality engineering would speak for itself.

Our latest blog shares the story of how the company grew from those early days into what it is today and the moment in 2017 that changed everything, when Rick suddenly lost his hearing, and his son Christopher Castillo stepped in to help keep the business going.

What followed shaped the culture we’ve built as a team: one rooted in support, trust, hard work, and giving talented engineers the opportunity to grow.

More than 25 years later, those values still guide everything we do.

The land available for solar is changing, and so is the risk that comes with it.

In North American Clean Energy, our Hydrology Lead Hossein Ghoveisi shares why flood risk needs to be evaluated beyond the project boundary and how outdated data can create a false sense of security.

Early, accurate hydrologic modeling isn’t just good engineering; it’s essential to avoid unnecessary costs, delays, and redesigns later.

If you’re developing or building utility-scale solar, this is a must-read.

Every month, our team comes together for The Current With Christopher, a team meeting led by our CEO. It's how we stay connected, aligned, and energized. This month was extra special, as we used the time to reflect on everything our team accomplished in Q1. It was great to take a beat and acknowledge every project designed and milestone we've achieved together.

Q1 set a strong foundation, and we're heading into the rest of the year with continued momentum. A big thank you to our team for everything they do⚡☀️
