ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Self-motivated.
• Works well independently as well as with others.
• Ability to manage time so that the daily schedule is done in an efficient manner.
• Must have reliable transportation to Madison to meet for work.
• Work in variable weather conditions and supply own weather appropriate clothing and boots.
• Ensure safe working environment (equipment functioning properly, equipment securely store and tied down during transportation)
• Able to operate a push mower, edger, w**d eater, and riding/zero turn lawn mower.
• Able to do basic diagnosis of problems that arise with lawn equipment, and able to report problems.
• Must be able to work daily in peak times (spring, summer, and fall) Time off is extremely limited during these times of year and must be pre-approved at least two weeks ahead of needing off.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to use common sense and carry out daily directions.
Ability to understand planting diagrams.
Ability to understand weekly mowing schedule and adapt to the weather conditions and customer activities.
Ability to diagnose and/or recognize issues with equipment as they arise, and either work with maintenance to fix problems or communicate with them about the issue.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Able to lift 50 pounds, haul hoses, carry supplies around properties, hold and operate w**d eater, edger or blower, kneel or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to use standard gardening tools (clippers, shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes, etc.) for long periods of time.
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to load lawn mowing equipment on landscaping trailer and secure in place.
