Building the future of sustainable construction starts with investing in the people who will shape it.

This summer, University of Maine senior Brian Waterbury joined our team in Madison through UMaine’s Building Science fellowship program. As a quality control and process engineering fellow, Brian supported research, testing, and quality control while gaining hands-on experience in wood fiber insulation manufacturing.

“His analytical approach and foundational research have improved our understanding of the factors that drive product quality,” said Evan Brewer, quality manager at TimberHP.

We’re proud to partner with University of Maine to give students meaningful industry experience while advancing building materials that help make homes more resilient and energy efficient.

Building lakeside in Wayne, Maine 🌲

Dennison Builders is making great progress on this flat-roof guest house overlooking Androscoggin Lake. The project features 2" TimberBoard installed over Henry products, along with 5.5" TimberBatt in the interior walls.

We’re excited to see this project take shape. Thanks to Dennison Builders for having us stop by!

Achieving a Grade I install means filling every cavity completely, with no gaps, voids, or excessive compression. TimberBatt® friction-fits snugly around framing and services, making precise installation straightforward. The result: consistent thermal performance across the entire assembly. This fall build season, make every cavity count.

Same R-value. VERY different ability to handle heat.

R-value measures resistance to heat flow, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. Heat capacity describes how much heat insulation can absorb and store before that heat moves indoors.

Wood fiber’s high heat capacity and density help slow peak daytime heat, keeping interiors more comfortable and potentially reducing cooling demand. Because when the summer sun is at its strongest, how insulation manages heat matters.

Offsite construction is changing the way we build and we're excited to be part of it. Mike Kelty, Business Development Manager, Mid Atlantic, recently stopped by Blueprint Robotics' 200,000+ square foot manufacturing facility in Baltimore, MD, where wall panels for their latest project are already taking shape.

The project is Affordable housing duplexes in Curtis Bay, MD, insulated with 5.5" TimberBatt® wood fiber insulation.

Factory-built construction demands materials that are easy to install, perform consistently, and help create healthy, high-performance building envelopes. We're proud to be working alongside innovative partners like Blueprint Robotics to bring better buildings to life.

Our team recently joined DeVere Insulation on a two-day project outside Baltimore, Maryland, their first installation TimberBatt.

The crew adapted to the material and jobsite conditions. Overall, the initial response was positive, and we’re looking forward to hearing the team’s final thoughts.

Thanks to DeVere Insulation for giving TimberHP a try!

Sound on. What happens when you place a ringing alarm inside a box made of wood fiber insulation? Listen for yourself.

Dense wood fibers help close gaps and voids while absorbing and dampening sound across a wide range of frequencies. In tested applications, TimberBatt can contribute to wall assemblies achieving STC ratings of 50+ and offers NRC ratings up to 1.15, helping create quieter, more comfortable spaces.

TimberBoard outside. TimberBatt inside. Wood fiber throughout the wall assembly.

At this high-performance home in Stamford, Connecticut, AXEA Construction Group paired 3-inch TimberBoard continuous exterior insulation with TimberBatt thermal and acoustic in the interior wall cavities.

Together, they help create a vapor-open assembly with improved thermal performance, reduced thermal bridging and greater acoustic comfort—all using materials that fit familiar construction methods.
