🎉 Celebrating 40 Years of Quinn Lumber in Brookfield! 🎉
In 1986, my parents, Carol and Mary Ann Sensenich, along with my grandparents, Laroy and Mary Catherine Quinn, took a chance on opening Quinn Lumber in Brookfield, Missouri.
Forty years later, it’s pretty special to look back at what they started and see just how far we’ve come.
Quinn Lumber has always been more than just a business. It’s been a family commitment. Over the years, Carolyn Payne, Michael Quinn, George Quinn, Randy Payne and Larry Quinn have all been part of that story, helping build and carry on what our family started.
And I certainly don’t want to leave out my aunts, Ramona, Kristina, and Cathy. They’ve always been some of our biggest fans — and sometimes our biggest critics! But every family business needs a little of both.
I’m proud that my sister, Katie Spry, and I have had the opportunity to be involved in the business, and it’s even more rewarding to see my own kids helping out and becoming part of the next generation. Claire, Emma, Holly, Calvin, and Duke may not always enjoy coming to work at the family business, but I hope someday they’ll look back and appreciate the experience and what it means to be part of something our family has worked so hard to build.
Today, we’re proud to serve our customers from three locations — Brookfield, Marceline, and Macon. While we’ve grown over the years, the values that started this business haven’t changed. We still believe in taking care of our customers, supporting our communities, and building lasting relationships.
One of our sales representatives recently pointed out something that really stuck with me — the great relationships we have with our customers. And it’s true. Over the years, so many of our customers have become our friends. That’s something you can’t put a price on, and it’s one of the things that makes this business so special.
I also want to recognize the many team members who have worked at Quinn Lumber over the past 40 years. Some have spent decades with us, some have moved on to other opportunities, and some are sadly no longer with us. Every one of them has played a part in our story. A family business doesn’t make it 40 years without great people showing up every day, working hard, and taking pride in what they do.
To our customers, contractors, vendors, friends, and communities — THANK YOU! Your loyalty, friendships, and support have allowed our family to do what we love for four decades. We never want to take that for granted.
I’m incredibly thankful for my parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles who helped make all of this possible. I’m proud of my sister, our families, and the team we have today. And I’m excited about what the future holds for Quinn Lumber.
