It's all about the people; it's so easy to say, post and hang your hat on those words but how does the business SHOW IT?
It might sound odd to some but the five types of love language do apply in business as well.
Words of affirmation - acknowledge and publicly celebrate individuals and the team
Physical touch - Present body language when communicating to show respect and sometimes a literal pat on the back or high five
Gifts - Gift cards, bonuses, swag, lunch, the list goes on.... most obvious of the bunch for sure
Quality time - PTO benefits, employee appreciation events, 1on1 time to chat and connect beyond just work task and needs
Acts of Service - teamwork makes the dreamwork, dive in and work as a team, humility, etc
Recently we had a crew in Nashville, away from their families, to build our LR1300 just so it could start work on Monday morning. These guys sacrificed time they can never get back for the better of the business. All while another crew was transporting a Tadano RT to Gulf Shore. Sure these are all necessary tasks that require manpower and time to complete but we cannot ignore the personal sacrifice each person makes.
