We are horseback everyday just like you and understand the challenges you face and how to help you meet them. Bryan Stinemetze our founder was working in a Colorado feedlot when he began the steps to create a different kind of saddle company. He knew there was a need for affordable saddles but had seen the effects the cheap saddles had on horses & riders alike. Bryan knew you could'nt compromise f

it & ridability in a working cowboy's saddle he has spent his life making a living horseback training performance horses & cowboying. These thoughts came to a head when Bryan broke the tree in his using saddle. He had to find a replacement ...fast! Bryan ended up buying a saddle he really didnt want but it was all he could get on short notice for less than $4000. We are building great using saddles with Herman Oak Leather, real sheepskin and quality saddle trees with a base price of $2595.00. Our desire is to provide quality products at reasonable prices to help young cowboys get started at a life thats already tough enough.

Most production saddles come with a 7"wide gullet. Even on a big rope type horse this is too wide. It's insane they put zero effort into correct fit. That's why we started Elkhorn Saddle to give folks a chance to have a more affordable saddle that's built right.
